Asado Argentino
The ASADO is an outdoor event organized by the Argentine students. It is a real barbecue experience! For those who have had the pleasure to experience a Latin barbecue knows that I am not talking about burgers and hot dogs, but about "real" meat (fillets) cooked by the best chefs of the school. asdfasdf The ASADO usually takes place at the Fairmont Park every Fall and Spring. In order to keep the high quality of the meal that we serve, we keep capacity to a maximum of 120 people.
Locura Latina!
Locura Latina is our Winter Party. During this party, first years dressed up and make a performance. This year, long skirts and coconuts bras were used by our first year Whalaseros to dance songs like El Tiburon, La mayonesa and La Macarena in front of more than 200 people.

International Food Festival
Every year Latin America Students have the chance to show the delicious meals from their different countries and feel proud of their roots once again.
Brazilian Feijoada
Feijoada is a typical Brazillian dish made out of beans. This event is a lunch served to approximately 100 people and comes accompanied by the typical Brazillian drink, caipirinha, and lots of Brazillian music. A great time with friends and family!
Whalasa Pub
Our own Pub, the Whalasa Pub, is an opportunity to join all our efforts to show during Pub how we party at Whalasa. All the flags from our countries, our soccer t-shirts and local shirts decorate the place. Four different drinks at specific hours are served: Margaritas, Mojitos, Caipirinhas and Sangria. We also enjoy the performance of our famous Brazilian drum band, Bateria. This is always a great event.
Handover Party
The Whalasa Executive Committee officially transfers its “irresponsibilites” to the newly-elected committee at the annual Handover Party, a memorable celebration bringing together first and second years in a night filled with drinks and dancing. This year’s Handover Party was celebrated in late January at Café Habana, a Cuban restaurant featuring great Latin music and one of our favorite Mojito bars.
LATAM week
Whalasa brought a taste of Latin America to Wharton during the first annual Latin America Region Week in February 2005. Featuring food tastings, movie screenings, travel guides, costumes, cigar tastings, music, dancers and plenty of parties, Latin America Region Week showcased the region’s best food, music and culture for all Wharton students to enjoy.
Carnival Party
The Carnival Party has become popular among Wharton grads students and Latin American undergrads. Students can experience the Brazilian carnival atmosphere with tons of caipirinhas, bateria and capoeira performances, samba dancers and the best carnival songs.
Cena de los Tucanes
La Cena de Tucanes is an annual event and was initially introduced by our Mexican students. This event is the goodbye dinner for second-year students at a local Latin American restaurant.
